The Season started with a visit from Lone Tree as the Comets took their new home diamond at the athletic complex.

The Comets jumped on the board first pushing across one in the second before pushing across six in the fourth. Lone Tree rallied back with three in the fifth before the Comets put the finishing touching on the game with two more in the sixth to take a 9-3 victory.

Next on the slate for the Comets was Benton Community for a doubleheader.

The Bobcats continued their scoring onslaught in the sixth, scoring two, and seventh adding another to take a 5-2 victory.

The second game saw a similar story, as the Comets jumped ahead to a 3-0 advantage early before a three-run response from the visitors in the fourth.

The Bobcats went on to add six runs in the next three innings to take a 9-3 victory.

The opening stretch of the season finally came to a close for the Comets as they took on the West Branch Bears on the road.

The hosts pulled ahead to a 1-0 advantage thanks to a run in the third before an immediate response of four from the Comets in the fourth.

The Bears tried to sneak in their first win of the season after plating four in the bottom of the sixth to take a 5-4 advantage.

It didn’t hold for long as the Comets blasted eight runs in the top of the seventh to take a 12-5 victory.
