Women Who Care to meet Nov. 6

Posted

Join 100+ Women Who Care: Comet Chapter for their quarterly meeting on Nov. 6 at the Liberty Public House, 115 E. 3rd St. (alley entrance). Lite bites will start at 6:30 p.m., with the meeting at 7:15.

Donna Alberti will be providing the food, and All American Concrete will sponsor. Shop 121 will be providing a door prize for the meeting.

100+ Women is a local organization of women of all ages who impact the communities of West Liberty, Nichols, and Atalissa in a tremendous way.

There is no major time commitment – the group meets four times per year for 90 minutes. There are no dues to join.

Each meeting includes a pre-meeting period for lite bites, followed by the business meeting. Nominations of local charities or 501(c)(3) non-profits, made by any member, are put into a basket and three are drawn randomly. A brief “sales pitch” is given for each of the three, and members vote by secret ballot on which of the three causes they wish to support during the quarter. The majority wins, and each member makes out a $100 check to the winner. Checks are collected and given as one donation. If you cannot attend the meeting in person, you can send your check with another member or receive instructions on which board member to send it to.
