Shows, rides and livestock competition every day in Davenport

The Mississippi Valley Fair will be held from July 30 – Aug. 4.

Tuesday is Special Needs Day, with free admission for special needs patrons until 2 p.m. Thursday is Senior & Kids Day, with kids aged 4-12 and seniors receiving $6 admission all day. Sunday is Military Day, with active-duty military and veterans receiving free admission with valid ID. There will be fireworks every night.

Daily entertainment

includes the Budweiser Clydesdales, Mutton Bustin’, Dallas the Fire Guy, the Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show, Rock nCircus, and Hot Glass Academy.

The carnival will be open from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. daily and wristbands are $30 per day.

Fun Cards are $105 on or before June 30, and $130 after June 30, and may be purchased at the Fair office, online, or at Kwik Star and Great Southern Bank locations. No admission to the grandstand will be granted without a Fun Card. Daily fair admission is $6 until 1 p.m. and $12 after 1 p.m. at the gate and kids under age 3 are free every day. Day passes can be purchased at the gate or online at mvfair.com.

The Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds are located at 2815 W. Locust Street in Davenport.

Livestock shows

Monday – 4-H dog show 1 p.m.;

Tuesday – Meat goat 8:30 a.m., with 4-H sheep show to follow;

Wednesday – 4-H dairy and bucket calf show, 8 a.m., 4-H breeding beef show 1 p.m.; Horse show 9 a.m., 4-H poultry show 11 a.m.;

Friday – 4-H market beef show 9 a.m.;

Saturday 4-H swine show 9:30 a.m., 4-H rabbit show 9:15 a.m., 4-H and open dairy goat show 11 a.m.

Tuesday – Thomas Rhett;

Wednesday – Koe Wetzel and Priscilla Block;

Thursday – T-Pain;

Friday – Bret Michaels;

Saturday – Alice Cooper;

Sunday – Scotty McCreery.
