Opening their 10th store, The Energy Hut owners Karlee Cleary and Quincy Moover are bringing a passion for healthy energy drinks to West Liberty and other small towns throughout Iowa.

Starting her first store in Dubuque in 2020, Cleary has developed a service unlike any other in the community. She opened Oct. 7 in West Liberty, providing a healthy drink environment at 208 W. Third St.,  on the west end of the main business district.

With everything from protein shakes and coffees to low sugar and no sugar drinks for adults, The Energy Hut is quickly becoming a popular stop and Cleary is clearly loving its quick growth in popularity.

Cleary says the store provides a complete a “work out line,” from providing drinks for post, pre and intermediate workouts to a full line of flavored teas that offer a caffeine boost.

With nearby shops in Iowa City, Muscatine and Columbus Junction, Cleary says she doesn’t want to stop opening new stores, now looking at Lone Tree for her next opening.

“We’d been looking at West Liberty for quite a while,” Cleary said, noting she likes the diversity, culture and friendliness of the town, along with the fact it has many festivals. “I don’t like big towns. I want to know all my customers that come in.”

She says business has been “very good” thus far and calls the community “incredible,” noting it’s friendly and supportive.
