The Atalissa Church of Christ is sponsoring a car show on the grounds of the church, 319 East Third Street in Atalissa.
The fun starts at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 24, ending at 4 p.m.
The event has been designated the “So-Long Summer Shine and Show.” The idea started when planning the annual fall picnic, wanting to share this time with the Atalissa community and surrounding area.
Many members enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the Father’s Day Car show in West Liberty and thought it would be fun to bring a relaxing afternoon of cars and car talk to Atalissa. The nucleus for the show comes from the fact that four members still owned the cars they drove to high school.
All types of interesting things with wheels are welcome: muscle cars, restorations, original condition, classic motorcycles, even bicycles. There is no fee, no judging, just fun! Food will be available with donations benefitting the Atalissa Volunteer Fire Department.
The Atalissa Church of Christ has been in continuous service in the current building since 1870. Each Sunday, fellowship is enjoyed with others from four different surrounding counties.
