WLBA to hold meeting next Friday

The West Liberty Business Association will be having its quarterly meeting next week.

Ken Brooks, Director of WeLead, said the meeting will be Friday, Aug.12, held from 12 – 2 p.m., at the West Liberty Community Center.

“Everybody is welcome and it’s an event sponsored by West Liberty Foods so lunch is provided at no cost,” Brooks said. “We encourage business owners and managers to come but anybody that is interested in learning about our business community is invited to attend.”

Those interested in attending the meeting should call WeLead or email Brooks to let him know they’re attending so there is enough food, he added.

Lunch will be served right away, followed by the program and then updates from the county, city and the school district will be provided, Brooks said. At the end of the meeting, community members and business members can make any announcements they may have, ask questions or talk about their concerns.

“They have an opportunity to ask them or voice them,” he added.

Sara Sedlacek, from Edward Jones, is in charge of the program for the meeting.

“I'm very excited to be bringing Mark Montgomery from John Hancock to the quarterly business luncheon,” she said. “We'll be providing an update on the current state of the market, but also talking with community business leaders about employer retirement plans and how they can benefit business owners and employees alike. With the SECURE Act, there have been a lot of changes within the retirement space and there are more coming with SECURE Act 2.0. We're looking forward to the opportunity to share this valuable information with the West Liberty business community.”
