I have been a part of this community for over 50 years and have seen many changes. Many of the changes have been for the benefit of the people that live in our community.
I was a teacher in the North Scott schools for many years. We raised our family here, and when it came time to retire we decided to stay.
The North Scott community has a lot to offer for all ages. We must continue to press forward with a new Y that will benefit everyone. The Y is an investment in our community and the future.
I have been a member of the Eldridge Rec and Fitness Center for over 20 years. Regular exercise has helped me live a much more active retirement. Many people that have had surgeries or injuries have used the current fitness center to help them recover, myself included.
So instead of doing “THE OLD MAN SHUFFLE,” let's all pick up our feet and support the building of the Y in Eldridge.
We will all be much healthier and happier when we exercise together at the new Y. Who knows, you might make some new friends.
