Violet Carrie Proctor, 94, of Moscow, Iowa, died Friday, March 19, 2021 at Prairie Hills Assisted Living in Tipton.

Funeral service was held Wednesday, March 24, at 10:30 a.m., at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty. Visitation was held Wednesday from 9:30 until 10:30 service time at the funeral home. Burial was in the Inland Cemetery, Bennett, Iowa.

Violet was born Jan. 14, 1927 in Cedar County, Iowa, the daughter of Lewis and Carrie (Joenk) Mussig. On Jan. 23, 1954 she was united in marriage to Alva Thomas Proctor in Rock Island, Illinois.

Violet assisted with the bulldozer business alongside her husband, farmed land in Cedar and Muscatine Counties and worked part-time many harvest seasons at Pioneer Seed Corn in Durant. Violet's passions were gardening and cheering for her boys at wrestling meets.

She is survived by four sons including Michael (Karol) Proctor, Moscow, Iowa; Brent (Anne Weinard) Proctor, West Liberty, Iowa; Bart (Sarah Laucamp) Proctor, Tipton, Iowa and Kelly (Jill) Proctor, Wilton. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren including Carrie Hicks, Jessi Proctor, Josh Proctor, Haley Proctor, Samantha (Jake) Kabela, Amanda (Tim) Connolly, Ben (Amber) Proctor, Alex (Michael) Gerken, Drew Proctor, Chris Smull, Kortney (Scott) Denkman, Kaylee (Kory) Wehmeyer, Kara (Austin) Anderson and 18 great grandchildren.

Surviving as well are brother in laws Lester (Ellen) Proctor and Gerald Burr as well as sister in laws Mary Benniger and Linda Martin.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, husband Alva on March 1, 1992, three grandchildren including Chelsea Proctor, Nic Proctor and James Zher as well as one great grandchild, Corbin Maier, and three sisters, Eva Mussig, Grace Bickford and Erma Riddle.
