Vernon Leonard Wulf, age 84, of New Liberty, Iowa, died on Monday, Feb. 26, 2024, at Cedar Manor Nursing Home in Tipton.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Bentley Funeral Home, Durant. A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., prior to the service at the funeral home. Vernon was born on Jan. 4, 1940, the son of Leonard and Lilly (Telsrow) Wulf. He proudly served his country in the Iowa National Guard. Vernon married Donna Bauer on March 16, 1968, in Davenport.
Vernon farmed in Cedar County his entire life. He was also a livestock buyer and hauled livestock until the late 1980's. Vernon later hauled grain and feed for Duffe Grain for many years. He was a lifetime member of the Cedar County Farm Bureau. Vernon loved attending the Iowa State Fair with his family.
Vernon will be dearly missed by his loving wife of fifty-five years, Donna; five children, Tim (Lynn) Wulf, Chris Wulf, Dan Wulf, Don (Meredith) Wulf and Julie (Jared) Semsch; nine grandchildren, Jacob, Hannah, Brady, Alyssa, Connor, Londyn, Hattie, Madison and Kayla; one sister, Laurine (Harold) Huettmann; one brother, Marvin Wulf; and his beloved dog, Sadie.
Vernon was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Lilly; one brother, Leroy and Mardelle Wulf; one sister-in-law, Darlene Wulf.
