Two-motorcycle accident on I80

According to a report from the Iowa State Patrol, two motorcycle riders were injured in an accident on Interstate 80 in Cedar County.

The report stated that a 2013 Victory motorcycle driven by Raymond Bethancourt, 34, of Reading, Pennsylvania, collided with a 2003 Suzuki motorcycle driven by Hannibal Fleming, 36, of Allentown, Pennsylvania.

The two motorcycles were traveling westbound on Interstate 80 at the 254-mile marker, traveling in the left lane in a group of 10 motorcycles. The two bikes collided, causing Bethancourt’s bike to roll, ejecting the driver onto the roadway. Fleming’s bike went into the ditch and came to rest on its side.

Both riders were transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics by Johnson County EMS. The accident remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol, assisted by West Branch PD.
