Solstice Celebration with Lantern Puppets at Owl Glass Puppetry Center

Posted

Join the Owl Glass Puppetry Center in creating lanterns and puppets that are lit from within Dec. 18-20, 5-7 p.m. The workshops are free and open to the public.

Anyone may attend any or all three days and make their own creations or help with the group project. The group will construct a giant sun and other celestial bodies (moon, stars, planets).

On Thursday, Dec. 21, at 5 p.m., when the sun has set, participants will light their lantern puppets and stroll them through the streets of beautiful West Liberty to celebrate the Solstice and welcome the return of the sun.

The short parade will end at Ron-De-Voo Park or Owl Glass Puppetry Center (depending on the weather), where the community will be invited to join for hot cocoa, treats and music.

Please let the center know if you plan to attend the workshops so it can be sure to have enough supplies. For further information or reservations call 319-627-2487 or e-mail monica@puppetspuppets.com or eptcoutreach@Lcom.net.
