West Liberty’s Run for the Schools is back this year following a multi-year absence since COVID 19 and will be held Sunday, Oct. 1, starting at West Liberty High School, 310 W. Maxson Ave., beginning at 1 p.m., sponsored overall by MidwestOne Bank.

Registration should be made by Wednesday, Sept. 13 in order to receive a Run for the Schools t-shirt and medal.

Runners can stay posted with updates on the race and sponsors on Facebook.

The logo for the event was designed by WLHS student David Hernandez, which will be used on promotional materials.

The 5K race is open to all age groups and awards will be given to males and females in each group. Runners will leave from the high school north to East Maxson Avenue before turning down Heritage Trail, winding through town before ending at the high school.
