West Liberty’s Run for the Schools is back this year following a multi-year absence since COVID-19.

The event will be held Sunday, October 1, starting at West Liberty High School (310 W. Maxson Ave.) beginning at 1 p.m.

The 5K race is open to all age groups and awards will be given to males and females in each group.

Runners will leave from the high school north to E. Maxson Ave., before turning down Heritage Trail, winding through town before ending at the high school.

Registration should be made by Wednesday, September 13 in order to receive a Run for the Schools t-shirt and medal.

The logo for the event was designed by West Liberty High School student David Hernandez, which will be used on promotional materials.

Runners can stay posted with updates on the race and sponsors on Facebook.
