This week, in partnership with our sister newspapers, the Wilton-Durant Advocate News and Eldridge North Scott Press, the West Liberty Index is launching a merged classified and classified display advertising section called Bend of the River Bizzzzy Bee.

The inaugural Bend of the River Bizzzzy Bee, on pages 10-12 in this week’s Index, includes reader classified ads from all three publications, and ads for employment, real estate, automotive, auctions, business services and events.

“Merging ads into one readable section makes sense,” said publisher Bill Tubbs. “For one price, our customers’ ads will appear in three newspapers invited into 8,300 homes and businesses every week, with readership of 22,000 in greater Scott, Muscatine and southern Cedar and eastern Johnson counties. Bend of the River Bizzzzy Bee pages will also be included in our highly read and expanding digital products, as well.”

Bend of the River Bizzzzy Bee will be the Classified Ad section for all three newspapers, with a footprint extending from the Mississippi River to Iowa City. The deadline for ads will be Friday at 10 a.m. at local newspaper offices in West Liberty, Wilton and Eldridge. Ads may also be placed online at www.indexnews@Lcom.net.

The name Bizzzzy Bee is new to Index readers, but has been around since 1972 in The North Scott Press as a common section with newspapers in DeWitt, Maquoketa, Tipton and Anamosa. That publication ceased after March 10.

“The new Bend of the River Bizzzzy Bee is our best effort to provide a multi-county reach for our advertisers, and a multi-page classified section for our readers with auctions, real estate, employment opportunities, automotive sales and services, dining and entertainment, and much more,” said Tubbs.
