WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congressman Dave Loebsack announced that the Muscatine Municipal Airport will receive a $2,962,260 grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) grant program.

The funding will be used to reconstruct 6,500 feet of the existing Taxiway A pavement, which has reached the end of its useful life. This grant includes funding from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) of 2020 to increase the Federal share to 100 percent.

“The Muscatine Municipal Airport plays a critical role in allowing the community to grow, as well as fuel additional economic development throughout the region,” said Loebsack. “I am pleased that Muscatine Municipal Airport is receiving this competitive funding, helping the airport make needed upgrades and remain safe.”
