Latinos Unidos de West Liberty invita cordialmente a toda la comunidad a su Fiesta Latina anual. Este vibrante evento tendrá lugar este fin de semana, el sábado 16 de septiembre, justo en el corazón del centro de West Liberty.
Aquí hay un resumen de las festividades del día:
Festival de Niños (10 a.m.): El día comienza con un fantástico Festival de Niños, un regalo para el disfrute de los más pequeños.
Festival Latino (3-10 p.m.) El Festival Latino toma protagonismo y promete una celebración inolvidable.
Este Festival Latino es un tributo especial al Mes de la Herencia Hispana, un momento para honrar y apreciar las ricas raíces y cultura latina que prosperan dentro de la comunidad de West Liberty. Todo es posible gracias a los esfuerzos apasionados de Francisco Martínez, quien fundó esta organización sin fines de lucro en 2017. Su visión era crear una plataforma que no solo celebre la cultura latina sino que también brinde información y recursos vitales para el acceso a la universidad a nuestros jóvenes.
Latinos Unidos West Liberty es un comité formado por ocho miembros dedicados que llaman a esta comunidad su hogar y comparten la misma misión: celebrar la cultura latina y empoderar a nuestra juventud con oportunidades educativas. Más allá de organizar el Festival Latino, también organizan talleres de acceso a la universidad y ofrecen becas a estudiantes que cursan estudios postsecundarios.
Este evento anual ha crecido exponencialmente a lo largo de los años, gracias a generosos patrocinios, la rifa tan esperada y los fantásticos proveedores que honran a la comunidad con su presencia. Este año, se agotaron los 300 boletos para la rifa, un testimonio del increíble apoyo que ha recibido esta organización. Creen firmemente en hacer las cosas bien y retribuir a la comunidad sin esperar nada a cambio. Cada año, se esfuerzan por traer agrupaciones y vendedores de comidas de diferentes países latinoamericanos para asegurar una amplia representación de comida y música. En los últimos años hemos visto a artistas como Son Peruchos, una banda peruana, y la sensación colombiana Sonora Santanera.
Para Francisco, este evento tiene un profundo significado. Lo visualiza como una plataforma donde se escuchan las voces de los latinos en nuestra comunidad y se ve y celebra su vibrante cultura. Están orgullosos de decir que la celebración es posible gracias a las generosas contribuciones de las empresas locales y la comunidad.
El comité dedicado ha estado planificando meticulosamente este evento desde febrero y nos prometieron un día lleno de emoción. El evento es completamente gratuito. Traiga sus sillas mientras se sienta y disfruta de las presentaciones y la música. Traiga dinero si quiere comprar comida o artesanías hechas por artistas latinos. Estas son algunas de las cosas emocionantes que experimentarás en el festival:
Participar en actividades para niños, incluyendo brincolines
Un emocionante paseo en toro mecánico.
Artes y artesanías tradicionales de varios países latinoamericanos.
Una amplia gama de vendedores de comida que ofrecen platillos deliciosos.
Ballet Folklórico Sones Mexicanos de Chicago
Bandas internacionales como Los Guardianes del Amor, Grupo Ritual, Tamborazo La Magdalena de Guanajuato, México, Sonido Nómada y Noryli Avila.
El evento comienza con “el grito de la independencia”, un grito de batalla hecho por primera vez por Miguel Hidalgo en 1810, que marcó el inicio de la Guerra de Independencia. Además, Latinos Unidos West Liberty se enorgullece de presentar un desfile cultural en el que representantes de varios países latinoamericanos exhiben con orgullo sus vestimentas tradicionales.

Latinos Unidos de West Liberty warmly invites the entire community to their annual Fiesta Latina. This vibrant event is set to take place this weekend, on Saturday September 16th, right in the heart of downtown West Liberty.
Here’s a rundown of the day’s festivities:
Children’s Festival (10 a.m.): The day kicks off with a fantastic Children’s Festival, a treat for the little ones to enjoy.
Latino Festival (3-10 p.m.): The Latino Festival takes center stage, promising an unforgettable celebration.
This Latino Festival is a special tribute to Hispanic Heritage Month, a time to honor and cherish the rich Latino roots and culture that thrive within the West Liberty community. It’s all made possible thanks to the passionate efforts of Francisco Martinez, who founded this non-profit organization in 2017. His vision was to create a platform that not only celebrates Latino culture but also provides vital college access information and resources to our youth.
Latinos Unidos West Liberty is a committee, consisting of eight dedicated members who call this community their home, share the same mission: celebrating Latino culture and empowering our youth with educational opportunities. Beyond orchestrating the Latino Festival, they also organize college access workshops and offer scholarships to students who pursue postsecondary education.
This annual event has grown exponentially over the years, thanks to generous sponsorships, the highly anticipated raffle, and the fantastic vendors who grace the community with their presence. This year, all 300 raffle tickets were sold out, a testament to the incredible support this organization has received. They firmly believe in doing things right and giving back to the community without expecting anything in return. Each year, they strive to bring in bands and food vendors from different Latin American countries to ensure a wide representation of food and music. Past years have seen the likes of Son Peruchos, a Peruvian band, and the Colombian sensation Sonora Santanera.
For Francisco, this event holds profound significance. He envisions it as a platform where the voices of Latinos in our community are heard and their vibrant culture is seen and celebrated. They are proud to say that this celebration is made possible by the generous contributions of local businesses and the community.
The dedicated committee has been meticulously planning this event since February, and they’ve promised us a day filled with excitement. The event is completely free. Bring your lawn chairs as you sit and enjoy the presentations and music. Bring money if you want to buy food or arts and crafts made by Latino artists.
