Muscatine Symphony Orchestra virtual auditions due Aug. 29

MUSCATINE — The Muscatine Symphony Orchestra announces its annual open auditions to join the orchestra for the 2020-21 MasterWorks season.

The Muscatine Symphony is inviting possible new members to audition to join this group of local musicians. The vast majority of the musicians in the MSO have been members for many years because of the sheer enjoyment they receive making music with this orchestra. From the wide variety of repertoire, to the family-like atmosphere, to the balance of challenge vs. enjoyment brought by Maestro Dollinger, they believe it is a very special place to make music.

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, in lieu of in-person auditions, auditions for the Symphony will be recorded and then sent into Music Director, Brian Dollinger for his review. Deadline for sending audition files is Aug. 29.

Understanding the limitations of each individual’s recording devices will be taken into account when Maestro Dollinger listens to recordings. All materials should be recorded onto a continuous, non-edited, video file. Then send either the completed file, or a link to the file (YouTube, Dropbox, etc), along with your audition information sheet.

All audition requirements and forms are located on the Muscatine Symphony Orchestra website. https://muscatinesymphony.org/join/ For more information, contact: msopersonnelmuscatine@gmail.com.
