Michael Anthony Schroeder, 72, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, Nov. 9, at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics.
A Formal Celebration of Life Service will take place at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, at the IBEW Hall, 1211 Wiley Blvd SW in Cedar Rapids with luncheon following the service.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia; son, Stacy (Rochelle Purdy) Schroeder; grandchildren, Courtne Honts, Mike (Delaina) Osborne, and Matthew (Tessa) Osborne; six great-grandchildren; his sister, Laura (Herbert) Coss; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.
Mike was born April 25, 1950, in Iowa City. He was the son of Eugene and Mary (Yeater) Schroeder.
He married Patricia Comer on June 29, 1968. Their 54 years of marriage were filled with family, friends, and fun.
He worked many years as a forklift operator. Mike bowled on three Senior Leagues. He was a long-time member of the Moose Lodge.
Mike enjoyed working on electrical, mechanical, and carpentry projects. He enjoyed watching westerns and sports, camping, and sharing family dinners.
Mike was preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela; and parents, Eugene and Mary.
