Obituary - Margaret Evelyn Rock

Margaret Evelyn Rock of West Liberty died Tuesday July 21, 2020, surrounded by her family at home.

A memorial service was held on Friday morning, July 24, in the Floral Building at the Muscatine County Fair Grounds. Visitation was held Thursday afternoon July 23, at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty.

Margaret was born February 3, 1936 in Tucson, Arizona to Richard and Gladys (Archer) Bergmann.

She graduated from Tucson High School. She was united in marriage to Clarence Rock on May 30, 1954 in Tucson, Arizona.

She worked with the West Liberty Community School District as a janitor for 27 years, retiring in 1998.

She was very proud of her family and enjoyed spending time with them, her friends and pets. Her passion was rescuing animals. She loved all animals (ask Dr. Leon Larson DVM).

Survivors include five sons including Jon (Allen) Rock of Cathedral City, California, Joel (Shirley) Rock of Moscow, Iowa, Jeff (Sonja) Rock of Moscow, Iowa, James (Heidi) Rock of New Boston, Illinois and Jerrold (Stacy) Rock of West Liberty as well as three daughters, including Barbara (Mike) Purdy of West Liberty, Sandra (Steve) Alt of West Liberty and Diana (Bruce) Cox of Atalissa.

Also surviving are 17 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and a sister, Madge (Glen) Hill of Gillette, Wyoming as well as special friends Marilyn Barrett of Sioux City and Sandy Job of Nichols. She also had two nephews she thought a lot of who include Robert (Debbie) Bergmann of Vidor, Texas and Tim (Holly) Rock of Eagle Lake, Minnesota.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and special friends Shirley Hunter and Cheryl Brenneman.
