LWVJC to host virtual Legislative Forum Feb. 27

IOWA CITY — The League of Women Voters of Johnson County will host a Legislative Forum on Saturday, Feb. 27, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. The focus is on the environment.

The forums provide opportunities for dialogue between the legislators and constituents in Johnson County. Legislators present information about issues they are working on, as well as summaries of critical matters before their respective chambers.

Sens. Joe Bolkcom, Kevin Kinney and Zach Wahls, and Reps. Christina Bohannan, David Jacoby, Bobby Kaufmann, Mary Mascher and Amy Nielsen have been invited to participate.

Co-sponsors include 100 Grannies, CAFE (Clean Air for Everyone), Iowa City Area Group of the Sierra Club and Iowa City Climate Activists.

The forum will be moderated by LWVJC member Jean Donham; Polly Horton will serve as the timekeeper.

The legislative forum will be live-streamed on the League’s Facebook page and website, and on City Channel 4. The discussion will be videotaped and rebroadcasts will be offered on City Channel 4, Coralvision and North Liberty TV. Check the websites for program schedules.
