Library offers language lessons

Posted

The West Liberty Public Library is now offering patrons a chance to learn new languages, according to director Allie Paarsmith.

The library has available language learning via the award-winning technology based language learning platform of Rosetta Stone, giving patrons an opportunity to learn or brush up on a particular language.

The program offers language and literacy tools to build reading, writing, speaking and literacy skills. Available in 30 languages, Rosetta Stone library solution will help patrons refine grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation, including live lessons with a Rosetta Stone coach plus on-demand videos specific to the language and its culture.

It also provides phrasebooks that provide patrons with a crash course in speaking a new language before upcoming travel as well as providing an audio companion that enable on-the-go users to practice pronunciation, vocabulary, phrases, speaking and conversation.

Options for use are available in the library or from home. Contact the West Liberty Public Library for more information at 400 N. Spencer Street or call 319-627-2084.
