Craig A. Jones Trucking has gifted $5,000 for sidewalk infrastructure at the new Muscatine County Fair Event Center. Craig and his wife Judy have three children- Brad Jones, Ryan Jones, and Cami Jones.
The fair is a place that Craig and his family have loved attending their whole lives. They have always love the camaraderie of the fair as a whole, from the entertainment in the grandstand to the grounds entertainment and Grove area.
“It brings families together.” Said Craig. “The fair brings a lot of people to town which is a boost to the local economy. Most people stop at other local businesses on their way to the fair.”
Craig feels the new event center will be a great grand central location for people to gather and plan their events. Everything from fair activities to wedding receptions, family reunions, birthday parties, and more. There is nothing of this size or scope within 50 miles. The event center will seat 500 people and have robust kitchen facilities to accommodate catering businesses to come in. The event center’s appearance will tie into the surrounding historic buildings already at the fairgrounds.
Craig’s donation will go towards sidewalks, as he feels that sidewalks are important to the new event center. The Muscatine County Fairgrounds campus is unique in its historic architecture and existing buildings, and sidewalks to connect the event center to the existing campus are important. Guests will love this feature as they venture to and from the event center.
“This a part of the project that would be easy to overlook,” said Fair Manager, Kelsey Meyers. “We have a diligent planning process to ensure no detail is left undressed. Craig Jones has been a huge fair supporter over the years and his commitment to this project is greatly appreciated.”
