Javier Gamon Ramirez, 61, passed away Tuesday, June 27, at home surrounded by his family.

Visitation was held 4:30 to 8 p.m., Friday, June 30, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in West Liberty. Funeral mass was held at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 1, at the Church. Burial was in the Oak Ridge Cemetery in West Liberty. The Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty is caring for Javier and his family.

Javier was born May 27, 1962, in Ignacio Allende, Durango, Mexico. He was the son of Rogelio and Vicenta (Ramirez) Gamon.

On December 27, 1982, he was united in marriage to Enedelia DeLaPaz in Muscatine. He had been employed with Louis Rich, West Liberty Foods and his final love and passion was working at All American Concrete.

After much dedicated work Javier received his Second Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo. He enjoyed working out, soccer and playing with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Enedelia, two children: Cynthia (Tiburcio) Murguia and Javier R. (Rosario) Gamon and five grandchildren: Andres, Arely and Mia Murguia, Leah and Javier Mateo Gamon. Parents: Rogelio and Vicenta Ramirez Gamon, siblings: Jose Gamon, Noel Gamon, Manuela Estrada, Antonio Gamon, Minerva Cruz, Maria DeLaLuz Estrada, Socorro Navarrette and Vicente Gamon.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Gonzalo and Maria DeLaLuz Ramirez.
