Iowa PBS to provide live coverage of Condition of the State address

JOHNSTON — Iowa PBS will provide live coverage of Condition of the State 2021 on air and online. Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds will present her Condition of the State address to the Iowa Legislature on Tuesday, Jan. 12 at 6 p.m. The address will be broadcast live on statewide Iowa PBS .1 and livestreamed on iowapbs.org, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

David Yepsen, host of Iowa PBS’s Iowa Press, and Kay Henderson, news director of Radio Iowa, will anchor the live broadcast, analyze the governor’s priorities and preview the 89th General Assembly of the Iowa Legislature.

In addition to Condition of the State 2021, Iowa PBS will offer expanded coverage of the Iowa Legislature in January. The statewide network will also provide pooled video feeds for media organizations across the state offering all Iowans high-quality access to statehouse activities under pandemic protocols. Additional governmental coverage is as follows:

* Opening Day of Session 2021 — Monday, Jan. 11 at 10 a.m.: Live coverage will be provided from the Iowa House Chambers as a new legislative session begins, members are sworn into office and leadership speeches take place. In addition to media pool feeds, Iowa PBS will offer livestreams on iowapbs.org and YouTube.

* State of the Judiciary 2021 — Wednesday, Jan. 13 at 10 a.m.: Iowa PBS will produce a State of the Judiciary broadcast live from the Iowa statehouse and provide media pool feeds. The program will be broadcast live on Iowa PBS WORLD .3 and livestreamed on iowapbs.org, Facebook and YouTube.

* Condition of the Guard 2021 — Thursday, Jan. 14 at 10 a.m.: Iowa PBS will broadcast the Condition of the Guard live from the Iowa statehouse. The program will be broadcast live on Iowa PBS WORLD .3 and livestreamed on iowapbs.org, Facebook and YouTube.

In addition to its statewide broadcast, Iowa PBS .1 is available to livestream on iowapbs.org/watch, pbs.org/livestream, the PBS Video App and YouTube TV.
