Edna Mae Marcus, 92, of Oak Ridge, North Carolina, formerly of West Liberty passed away Friday, July 21, at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro in North Carolina.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, July 28, with visitation one hour prior to services at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.hendersonbarkerfuneralhome.com.

Memorials may be made to the First Lutheran Church in Conway or Fountain of Life Lutheran Church in Kernersville, North Carolina.

Burial will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery in West Liberty.

Edna was born January 30, 1931, in Ames. She was the daughter of Earl and Florence (Latham) Hinton. She was a graduate of Ames High School.

On March 31, 1951 she was united in marriage to LeRoy Marcus in South Bend, Indiana.

She worked as a baby sitter until 1968 prior to her career at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, working first as a nurses aide and later a EKG tech until her retirement at age 60.

Following her retirement she worked for the Corp of Engineers as a gate attendant for campgrounds and retired a second time at 80.

She was a member of Fountain of Life Lutheran Church in Kernersville, North Carolina.

In her younger years she played the guitar, roller skated (where she met her husband LeRoy), sewed, crotchetedd, knitted and loved camping.

She is survived by her husband LeRoy, two daughters: Denise Marcus of Greensboro, North Carolina; and DeAnn Marcus (Jimmy Vaughn) of Oak Ridge, North Carolina; grandchildren: Mike Becker, Brian (Vicki) Becker, Jeremy (Jenni) Becker, Melinda Becker and Heather (Jeremy) Fisher;great grandchildren: BreAnna, DeAnna, Josephine, Nathan, Noah, Wyatt, Lydia, Maliya, Brixton, Keila, Kierston, Braydon, Isabella and Kristen, great great grandchildren: McKinzie, Grayson, Leo and a brother Richard Hinton.
