Darlene Lenz, 90, passed away Friday, July 7, at Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty.

Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 13, at the United Methodist Church in West Liberty. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m., at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty. Burial will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery, West Liberty. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Darlene Lenz Memorial Fund. Darlene was born March 9, 1933, in Scott County She was the daughter of Herbert and Hertha (Wulf) Telsrow.

She was a graduate of Durant High School in the Class of 1951.

On Aug. 16, 1953, she was united in marriage to Leonard Lenz at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Davenport.

Leonard and Darlene farmed for many years in Muscatine County.

She was a past 4-H leader, started the Muscatine County 4-H rabbit club and served as a superintendant at the Muscatine County Fair in the canned goods department.

She enjoyed her grandchildren, camping, dancing and crafts. Darlene and Leonard spent 19 winters in Texas.

Survivors include her three children Jean (Brian) Brockert, of Muscatine; Joan (Bruce) Grady, of Muscatine; and Bryan (Jean) Lenz, of West Liberty; and a sister Marilyn Sorensen, of Durant; seven grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren also survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband and a brother, Darold.
