Cynthia Schmidt, 73, of Atalissa, passed away on Sunday, July 16, at her home. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 5, at 11 a.m. at Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Muscatine. Interment will be in Overman Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, Aug. 5, from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Cynthia June Skidmore was born on March 26, 1950, in Muscatine. She was the daughter of Basil and Charlene (Steahr) Skidmore.

On Jan. 2, 1973, she was united in marriage to Robert Schmidt in Palmyra, Missouri.

She was a member of the Atalissa Betterment Committee Women and enjoyed camping, fishing, boating, traveling, car rides, music, dancing, and orchids.

Cynthia was the owner of Creative Hot Prints, making custom T-shirts for people at Atalissa Days, Old Threshers and multiple fairs and festivals.

She could often be found with her dear friends, Zip and Darlene Spencer, Orville and Judy Esmoil, Norm and Gracie Gritton, Bob and Sandy Peterson, Everett and Connie Clester. Most of all, she loved being with her grandchildren.

Cindy will be deeply missed by her two sons: Lance (Hayley) Wieskamp of Washburn, and Bobby (Samantha) Schmidt, of Burlington; one step-daughter, Sherry (Darin) Wolf, of West Liberty; grandchildren, Dani (Brandon) BrownWolf, Dylan (Emily) Wolf, Britney (Alex) Wolf, Brandon (Taylor) Wolf, Brandon Wieskamp, Trinity (Theo) Alvarado-Wieskamp, Jakob Wieskamp, Natalie (Tanner) Schmidt and Bobby Schmidt and great-granddaughter, Addison.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, Rod and Sam Skidmore; sister, Beverly Smith and infant sister, Theresa Skidmore.
