West Liberty administration team gets new digs

City Hall has a temporary new home.

Open for business as early as Friday, the city administration team found a new home in downtown West Liberty at the home of WeLead Economic Development and the Regional Learning and Cultural Center, where official business will be conducted in the next several months as the Waldo C. Myers building undergoes a complete remodeling that is anticipated to cost at least $440,000, not including various upgrades in phone and computer systems.

In the meanwhile. the West Liberty Police Department, under interim Chief Dave Lira, will continue to work from the Waldo C. Myers building, being shuffled around during the transition.

S.G. Construction of West Burlington is expected to win the bid on the job at $441,570, just over the estimated engineer's cost of $395,830.
