Bloodmobile coming to town Monday, Dec. 7

The regular Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center blood drive will take a different shape Monday, Dec. 7 when it comes to town as part of it's regular West Liberty blood collection.

Due to the fact the First Church United community center is closed because of COVID-19 pandemic, organizers will be hosting the special bloodmobile unit, which will come to the parking lot of the church and be open to donors from 2-7 p.m.

The Chapter AH P.E.O. of West Liberty is the sponsoring organization and pointed out all donors need to make a reservation as space is limited in the mobile unit.

Michelle Catlett, Recruitment Development Coordinator for the blood center, said reservations can be made by calling MVRBC at 800-747-5401 or online at https://login.bloodcenter.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/81066 or simply going to bllodcenter.org

Catlett said blood is greatly needed in the area as giving has slowed down because of the pandemic but said every safety precaution is taken to make giving blood as safe and easy as ever.
