The West Liberty boys' track and field team scored 14 points at the Iowa State Track and Field Meet May 18-20.

"Our results at state were just about what we expected," West Liberty Co-head Coach Marc Hauschildt said. "Tanner's (Iske) 100m dash, the 4x200 relay, distance medley, and shuttle hurdle all finished just about what they were seeded.

"Michael Hartman's 400m hurdles and Noah Feldman's high jump were the two that saw the greatest improvements despite the cold weather. We were hoping to get a top eight finish in either the 4x100 or 4x200, but I felt that our guys gave it their best effort. We finished in 19th place overall."

Iske had the best finish of the athletes at the meet. He finished second in the 100m dash. He finished second in the preliminary round also with a time of 10.92. His time in the finals was 11.09. He was seeded second going into the race.

N. Feldman was the other scoring athlete for the Comets. He placed third (seeded fifth) in the high jump. N.Feldman cleared 6-06 in the event.

In the 400m hurdles, Michael Hartman, seeded 19th going into the race, finished in 13th place with a time of 56.71.

Iske, Justis Dengler, S. Feldman, and N. Feldman finished 23rd (seeded 23rd) in the 4x400.

In the distance medley race, the team of A.J. Lenz, Jackson Gingerich, Nathan Schemmel, and Coy Ruess finished 22nd after being seeded 23rd. Their time was 3:51.62.
