Everett Willis Grim, 86, of Nichols, died Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2016, at Pioneer Park, Lone Tree, Iowa.
Everett Willis Grim was born on June 28, 1930, in Nichols, Iowa, the son of Edward Lee and Edith M. (Newcomb) Grim. He graduated from Nichols High School and was a proud veteran of the United States Army serving his country during the Korean Conflict from 1951-1953. On Nov. 18, 1956, Everett was united in marriage to Edna Joan Sands in Davenport. Everett had worked as a serviceman for Walnut Grove Products Co. from 1956-1991 and also farmed the family farm. He was a member of the Nichols Christian Church, serving as a deacon and elder for the church, served on the Nichols Volunteer Fire Department for several years and enjoyed woodworking, golfing, playing cards and spending time with his family.
Everett will be deeply missed by his wife Joan of Nichols; his children, Linda Koser of Memphis, Mo., Rebecca (Dennis) Bayers of Hermitage, Mo., Russell (Sharyl) Grim of Nichols; daughter-in-law, Kathy Clevenger of Fruitland; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Twyla (Victor) Burch of Muscatine; and one brother, Franklin Grim of Muscatine.
Everett was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Duane Clevenger; son-in-law, Roy Koser; and two sisters, Irene Elliott and Delores Grim.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016, at the Nichols Christian Church. Interment was at Nichols Cemetery with military rites by the Allen Wright Hanft American Legion Post #100. Following the interment, a time of food and fellowship was held at the church. Visitation was held on Saturday until service time at the church.
