LeRoy Brenneman, 93, Hills

LeRoy E. Brenneman, 93, of Hills and formerly of Nichols, died Tuesday, July 20, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

A memorial service was held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 24, at the Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.hendersonbarkerfuneralhome.com. A memorial fund has been established.

LeRoy was born April 10, 1917 in Seven Valleys, Pa., the son of Jesse and Elsie Houser Brenneman. On July 2, 1938, he was married to Rosalie Hogan of Muscatine. The couple lived and farmed in the Nichols area all their life.

Survivors include one granddaughter, Adrienne (Andrew) Connor and a great-granddaughter, Cate of Omaha, Neb.; one grandson, Bradley Kruse and his fiancé, Megan Murray of Omaha, Neb. and one sister, Bernice Whitlock of Atalissa. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rosalie in 2002; daughter, Belita Kruse-Calef in 2004; six brothers and four sisters.
